Network Heterogeneity and Collaborative Innovation Performance : Considering the Dual Role of Multidimensional Proximity

Based on the dual perspective of network heterogeneity and multidimensional proximity, the paper empirically investigates the specific formation mechanism of collaborative innovation performance based on nearly ten years of collaborative patent data in China's pharmaceutical and health industries. The results show that (1) network heterogeneity has a significant positive influence on collaborative innovation performance, and geographical proximity plays a negative moderating role in the relationship between network heterogeneity and collaborative innovation performance; (2) there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between technological proximity and collaborative innovation performance; (3)geographical proximity has a significant negative moderating effect on collaborative innovation performance
