Optimising water reuse in the EU : final reportPart I

As a follow-up to the Blueprint, the European Commission (EC) aims to evaluate the most suitable EU-level instruments to encourage water reuse, including the possibility of a Regulation establishing common standards. In 2015, the Commission intends to make a policy proposal, subject to an appropriate Impact Assessment (IA). The present study provides support to the Commission in the preparation of this Impact Assessment, by identifying the problem drivers, defining policy objectives for the EU, proposing a set of policy options, assessing their environmental and socio-economic impacts and concluding on the most desirable options. A secondary objective of the study is to provide support to the Commission for the stakeholder/public consultation associated with the preparation of the Impact Assessment.
