Outplacement is “in”
Examines the new and increasing trend towards outplacement consultancies. Argues that outplacing, as an alternative to releasing employees, minimizes organizational disruption and loss of morale. Reports that the stigma once attached to corporate outplacing has since been replaced by an understanding by potential employers that a recent job loss is not the fault of the employee. Concludes that outplacement is becoming a standard part of any redundancy package.
