Overview of the availability, comparability and consistency of administrative statistical data on recorded crime and on the stages of the criminal justice process in the EU : executive summary

The study on the 'availability, comparability and consistency of administrative statistical data on recorded crime and on the stages of the criminal justice process in the European Union (EU)' aims to provide an evidence base to further develop data on crime statistics and inform policy making in the field of cross border serious and organised crime. It assesses the availability, comparability and consistency of statistics for 18 offences, 7 situational subcategories, and 5 stages of the criminal justice system. The study was performed in two phases, the first focusing on the availability of administrative statistical data on recorded crime and criminal justice and the second on the comparability and consistency of these data.
