Part-Year Employment, Slow Reemployment and Earnings Losses: The Case of Worker Displacement in France.
In this paper, we consider the impact of displacement (defined as a separation due to firm closure) on the earnings of workers in France. We find that the estimated effects of displacement on earnings are very sensitive to measure of wages used. Earnings changes for displaced workers in France seemed to reflect a major difference between those who find new jobs quickly and those who do not.
