The study seeks to provide a varieties of policy options to a newly appointed Minister on best way to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The study is a policy brief submitted to examine policy options that can be considered by a Minister of Environment to solve the quagmires of GHG emissions. Having adopted institutional theory and content analysis, the showed that GHG emissions have serious effect on human health and well-being, sustainable cities, and life on land. This policy brief advised the Minister of Environment that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions can heighten the pressure of climate change caused by global warming and air pollution. The policy brief equally advised the new Minister to consult widely on applicability of carbon tax, emission permit, or incentives on pollution control before implementing subsidy on insulation schemes. This policy brief concludes that market failure is the basis of argument for government’s regulatory control of the economy. It also concludes that reduction of GHG emissions is a major focus of the UN SDGs 2030 which come with suggestions of apt regulations and intervention. The policy brief recommends to the new Minister of Environment that carbon tax, congestion levy, toll fees, or emissions trading permit should adapted and adopted since they have benefited the advanced nations
