Research on the Paths and Driving Factors to Realize Grid Parity of Wind-Storage System Based on a New Method to Calculate the Levelized Cost of Electricity
In order to achieve the grid parity of wind-storage project, the main tasks of this paper are as follows. First, this paper calculates the power generation of wind-storage system based on equivalent load carrying capacity (ELCC) to accurately evaluate the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). Second, the LCOE is explored in the current state (scenario 1). Also, 10 scenario s are built to analyze the influence on the LCOE of the system based on system dynamics (SDs), to acquire the paths to realize grid parity . Third, the important driving factors affecting LCOE are obtained through sensitivity analysis. The results indicate that (1) Under a certain permeability of wind power, the LCOE presents a U-shaped trend with the increase of energy storage capacity. Also, as wind power penetration increases, LCOE increases. (2) When the power generation of the system is increased 1-2 times, the initial investment and the operation and maintenance unit cost of wind power and energy storage are reduced by at least 82% at the same time to ensure that the LCOE of the system is lower than the benchmark price, 0.33R/kWh. (3) The initial investment cost of wind power installation has the greatest impact on LCOE
