Zur Rolle der Printmedien bei der Steuerung und ?berwachung von Unternehmen. Eine Analyse der Berichterstattung ?ber die Einhaltung der Grunds?tze des Deutschen Corporate Governance Kodex.
Ausgangspunkt der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die Feststellung, dass sich die ?konomische Theorie trotz der mehr als 160j?hrigen Geschichte gewerbsm??iger medialer Berichterstattung ?ber das Geschehen rund um M?rkte und Unternehmen lange Zeit kaum mit den Massenmedien besch?ftigt hat. Dabei kann auch im Hinblick auf die Un?tersuchung der Rolle, die Medien mit ihrer Berichterstattung f?r Steuerung und ?berwachung b?rsennotierter Unternehmen spielen, ein Nachholbedarf konstatiert werden. Vor diesem Hintergrund wurden im Rahmen der Arbeit folgende Ergebnisse erarbeitet:(1) Die Auswertung finanzierungstheoretischer Literatur hat gezeigt, dass sich der theoretische Rahmen der Neoklassik f?r die vorliegende Untersuchung als wenig fruchtbar erweist. Insbes. sorgen die einschr?nkenden Annahmen daf?r, dass sich die Existenz etwa von Informationsrechten und -pflichten oder (Finanz-)Intermedi?ren aus der neoklassischen Modellwelt heraus nicht erkl?ren l?sst. Dagegen lockern die der Arbeit zugrunde liegenden institutionen?konomischen Modellvorstellungen die neoklassischen Informations- und Verhaltensannahmen. Zudem betrachten sie Unternehmen als Geflechte von Vertragsbeziehungen zwischen verschiedenen Wirtschaftssubjekten und erlauben so eine Systematisierung der einzelnen Vertragsparteien als Anspruchsgruppe.(2) Medien?konomische und kommunikationswissenschaftliche ?berlegungen ergaben, dass Printmedien als mittelbare Anspruchsgruppe im Institutionengef?ge der Corporate Governance & Control positioniert werden k?nnen, da sie mit der Erstellung von Informationsprodukten i.d.R. nicht direkt an der Finanzierung oder der Leistungserstellung anderer Unternehmen beteiligt sind. Aufgrund ihrer F?higkeit, im Hinblick auf ihren eigenen Standpunkt oder den anderer Anspruchsgruppen Publizit?t herstellen zu k?nnen, sind sie jedoch dazu in der Lage, die Beziehungen zur Finanzierungs- und zur Wertsch?pfungssph?re zu beeinflussen. Um Medienwirkungen m?glichst umfassend untersuchen zu k?nnen und insbes. das Zusammenspiel von Medien und Publikum differenziert betrachten zu k?nnen, wurde daher mit dem "dynamisch-transaktionalen Modell" von FR?H/ SCH?NBACH ein Wirkungsansatz gew?hlt, der Kommunikation als Transaktionsprozess zwischen Medium und Rezipient versteht, der gepr?gt ist von den Anreizen der Medien, ?ber bestimmte Sachverhalte zu berichten, und von den Anreizen und F?higkeiten der Rezipienten, die jeweiligen Medieninformationen aufzunehmen und sie zu verarbeiten. (3)Im Rahmen der zur empirischen Pr?fung der gewonnenen theoretischen Erkenntnisse durchgef?hrten Inhaltsanalyse best?tigten sich in erster Linie die Erwartungen zum Einfluss der von den Medien jeweils angesprochenen Zielgruppe: So reduzierten sich der blo?en Umfang der betrachteten Berichterstattung und der Anteil jeweils verwandter kommentierender Darstellungsformen mit abnehmender Bedeutung von Produktionsinformationen innerhalb der Wirtschaftsberichterstattung einer bestimmten Zeitung, w?hrend der Anteil an Agenturmeldungen wuchs. Was die Bedeutung der Zielgruppenorientierung f?r inhaltliche Aspekte der Berichterstattung betrifft, berichteten die untersuchten Zeitungen ?ber umso mehr Kodex-Vorschriften und Unternehmen, je wichtiger Produktionsinformationen in ihrer Wirtschaftsberichterstattung waren.
