Simulating housing quality changes in developing countries : A tool for policy analysis

This paper describes a new planning tool - the Housing Quality Simulation Model, which is designed to help analysts valuate alternative strategies for deploying resources to meet a country's housing needs. The model operates on a micro-computer. The paper provides an overall description of the model, placing it in the context of other urban models, and illustrates its use by summarizing the model's application to Sri Lanka. (DSE)
