Specification of Bank Lending Development in COVID Conditions 19

The world economy is being destabilized by the COVID-19 pandemic. Quarantine restrictions, starting in 2020, cause a negative trend in the development of small and medium-sized businesses. It is small business that creates 65% of the gross national product and ensures market competition. The full implementation of the innovation and social function by small and medium-sized enterprises contributes to the exit of Ukraine's economy from the crisis. This is what determines the need for state support for this segment of the economy. The development of new approaches in the field of small and medium business lending will provide an opportunity not only for the development of these enterprises, but also create better conditions for the development of this segment of lending activities of banks. Quarantine restrictions have led to an increase in consumer loan defaults, parliament has even introduced preferential credit terms, and banks have begun to develop restructuring programs and offer credit vacations. One of the effective methods of stimulating lending to small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine was the development of a large number of special credit products for various areas of economic activity, which will allow businesses to receive money on favorable terms and have a positive impact on small and medium development medium business. The crisis caused by COVID-19 and the pandemic quarantine measures led to an increase in loan defaults and had a negative impact on the quality of financial institutions' loan portfolios. As the banking sector is the most important element of the country's economy, its key task now is the effective redistribution of financial resources between the population, businesses and the state to attract depositors' money. To stimulate the development of bank lending to small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine, foreign experience should also be used, in particular, in the creation of effective funds to promote lending to small and medium-sized businesses.
