This is the second edition of Statistics on the Information Society in Europe. It provides detailed statistical information on the Information Society in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the Candidate countries. Statistical information from a variety of sources, mainly official sources, have been brought together for this publication. The publication uses data from three Eurostat sources that are focused on information society issues, namely the COINS database on communication statistics, the ICT usage and e-commerce survey of enterprises and data from the household survey on ICT usage. The publication also provides detailed data relevant to information and communication technologies extracted from broader Eurostat sources, notably Structural Business Statistics, PRODCOM, short-term business statistics, external trade and the Labour Force Survey. A number of other sources covering specific issues complete the picture. Dies ist die zweite Ausgabe von "Statistics on the Information Society in Europe". Sie enthält ausführliche statistische Informationen über die Informationsgesellschaft im Europäischen Wirtschaftsraum, der Schweiz und den Kandidatenländern. Mehrere andere Quellen zu speziellen Fragestellungen runden das Bild ab. Seconde édition des "Statistiques de la société de l'information en Europe", la présente publication fournit des données détaillées sur la société de l'information dans l'Espace économique européen, la Suisse et les Pays candidats. Ces données sont tirées à diverses sources, essentiellement officielles. Cette publication fait appel à trois sources de données d'Eurostat s'intéressant à des aspects de la société de l'information, à savoir la base de données COINS sur les statistiques de la communication, l'enquête auprès des entreprises sur l'utilisation des TIC et de l'e-commerce et l'enquête auprès des ménages sur l'utilisation des TIC.Elle propose également des données détaillées sur les technologies de l'information et de la communication provenant de sources de données plus générales d'Eurostat comme les statistiques structurelles sur les entreprises, PRODCOM, les statistiques conjoncturelles des entreprises, le commerce extérieur et l'enquête sur les forces de travail. Un certain nombre d'autres sources couvrant des questions spécifiques viennent compléter le tableau.
