Stochastic monotonicity properties of Bayes estimation of the population size for capture-recapture data
Under arbitrary prior distributions for the population size k and for capture probabilities, monotonicity properties of the posterior distribution of k are obtained to explain the role of the sample and the role of the prior opinion about the capture probabilities in the Bayesian estimation of k.
