The SAFSS project addresses the use of ferritic stainless steel in structural applications. The primary objective was to increase the use of load-bearing ferritic stainless steel in construction by providing engineers with reliable performance data and design guidance. The project covered material behaviour, response of structural members and corrosion resistance. Both ambient and fire conditions were considered.
