Study of Single Mode Fiber (SMF) and Bidirectional Fiber Cable for Various Bands of Wavelength in Optical Communication System

In this paper, the study of Single Mode Fiber (SMF) and Bidirectional Fiber cables is done in optical communication system. The source used for the system is (CW) Laser and at the reception PIN diode is used. The distance between the transmitter and the receiver is 10.5 km and 110 km for SMF and Bidirectional fiber cables respectively. The end results are discussed using the values of quality factor which are available in both forward and reverse direction in case of bi-directional fiber cable. The best suited wavelengths from E-band, S band and C band are 1410 nm, 1510 nm and 1550 nm that are used for communication purpose for both cables as discussed in this paper
