System Reliability Analysis of Transmission Line Tower
In this paper, a system reliability analysis is performed on a transmission line tower using β-unzipping method. In this analysis, the applied loads, modulus of elasticity and yield strength of steel are considered as random variables. The prototype of transmission line tower was already tested till its failure by increasing the applied loads in critical design load case. The excess percentage of applied load required for the failure of tower is considered as coefficient of variation for the applied loads in analysis. The system reliability analysis is exactly predicted the failure mode. Further, it has estimated the higher probability of failure in critical load for the tower
