Techno-Economic Study and Sensitivity Analysis of an On-Grid Photovoltaic-Battery-Diesel Hybrid System Under Blackouts Conditions : A Case Study on an Industrial Unit in Iran
This study aims to explore combining several solar photovoltaic energy resources-diesel generators and batteries as a hybrid power system technically and economically to compensate for the lack of required power consumption due to the outages in the national power distribution grid. At first, a mathematical model for power outage effect is proposed using statistical information of power outages obtained from the power distribution grid. Then, the amount of reliable power output through the hybrid system compared to the unreliable power grid is examined using the HOMER software and considering the unreliability in the grid and predicting electricity costs. The required power, the proportionate to supply the lack of capacity and consumption is implemented through the photovoltaic renewable system with a capacity of 200 kW, the renewable system of the diesel generator with a capacity of 175 kW, and the storage source of the battery bank 5690Kwh due to the outages in the power distribution grid and the random possibilities in producing scheduled programs for the grid blackouts in different scenarios. In the following, sensitivity analysis has been performed to determine the effect of several main parameters including fuel cost and initial investment coefficient of energy generators
