The A Algorithm for Orthogonal Rectanfular Packing and Strip Packing Problems.

In this paper we present an exact algorithm and a general heuristic search based upon the A algorithm and dynamic programming techniques for orthogonal rectangular packing (RP) and strip packing (SP) problems. We propose several modifications to the basic A algorithm including initial upper bound and the branch-cut strategy.
