The density of Gibbs's grand potential in a non-uniform system
Lovett and Baus have claimed recently that there is a scalar pressure in an equilibrium non-uniform system that both satisfies the condition of mechanical equilibrium and is the density of Gibbs's grand potential. It is shown, by means of counter-examples, that this claim is generally not correct.
