The diffusion and production of numerically controlled machine tools with special reference to Argentina

Despite the low wages for skilled labor prevailing in developing countries, user firms in Argentina, but also in Brazil, Taiwan and South Korea, are willing to adopt numerically controlled machine tools for rerasons more linked to changes in the product mix to be machined, rather than to substitute capital for labor. However, user firms are only able to amortize the higher investment if they have a substantial aggregate volume of production
