The Impact of Logistics Industry on the Promotion of China's Position in Global Value Chain from the Perspective of International Trade

The current international environment is becoming increasingly complex. With the continuous development of economic globalization, the logistics industry as the basis of international trade circulation has a far-reaching impact on promoting a country's position in the global value chain. Based on the perspective of international trade, this paper uses panel data of 59 economies from 1995 to 2018 to build a two-way fixed-effect model. The empirical results show that the development of logistics industry has a positive role in promoting the status of the global value chain. Further analysis shows that the logistics industry has a significantly impacts on the promotion of a country's position in the global value chain through GDP growth and the improvement of Digital economy level. Therefore, China should speed up the construction of export logistics infrastructure and cross-border intelligent logistics system, and enhance the customs clearance and logistics hub capacity of China's ports. Optimize the chain integration force by "reinforcing chain, strengthening chain and extending chain" to ensure smooth circulation at home and abroad, lead the high-quality development of logistics industry, seize the opportunity and promote the status of global value chain in the high-quality development stage of national economy
