Japanese bubble economy was for a large part driven by its burgeoning investment. With the declining of TFP, the investment-driven boom would cause great overinvestment and it could not last long or sustain. During the boom consumption was in a downward trend, due to a shrinking household income and also possibly lavish corporate consumption.
