The Main Features of the Collectivization of Agriculture in the U.S.S.R.
Agriculture of our country is marking the 40th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution with achievements of world historical import. On the eve of the October Revolution Russian agriculture was extremely backward. The domination of the landlords and kulaks, the deep class stratification and impoverishment of the peasants, extremely low and unstable yields, periodical famines for millions of peasants in large areas of the country, crying technical backwardness â such were the characteristic features of the villages before the establishment of the Soviet power in Russia.
