Tribal Development Administration (A Study of MADA in Andhra Pradesh)

Development, as a term, signifies growth or change for the better in any aspect of a social process. Applied to economy, it means growth in its different sectors like, production, distribution, education, living, civilization and wages of the workers etc. Political development similarly means healthy growth of political institutions of the society like democracy, public administration, growth with justice, equality among citizens, integration among communities and linguistic regions, and so on.Social development signifies the development of social institutions which facilitate smooth changes in the society spurred by the positive outlook of the people. For that, it needs improvement in social structures like norms of mutual conduct among members, values, cultural tastes, humanization and modernization.Development administration is that branch of public administration which concerns with the development of a country’s economy and the society. The system of development administration depends on the socio-political system prevailing in the country. The socio-political system of developed countries is quite different from the sociopolitical system of underdeveloped countries. The sociopolitical system of a country depends on various factors. The most important of these is the basic objective which a society stands for. The system also depends on whether a country has adopted the capitalistic system of the economy or opted for a socialistic pattern.This study has dealt with the review of the existing the literature on the Tribal Development Administration and its programmes in general and implementation of MADA schemes in Andhra Pradesh in Particular. All the major contributions of the scholars in the field of Tribal Development Administration have been reviewed with a view to gain a comprehensive understating of the existing literature related to the topic of the present study and thereby project me into the other details of the problems, programmes and processes which are further needed to the government machinery to bring about the required reformation for the betterment of life in the plane areas
