Triple Bottom Line : A Tripartite Reporting Approach

“Change is commonly referred to as the only constant thing”. This is equally seen in the manner in which corporate reporting changes to suit globalization, competition, and agitations by various interest groups. One change that has blown the way of reporting is the Triple Bottom Line Reporting whose focus is on the economic value companies add, as well as the environmental and social value. Our objective based on this emerging concept was to examine conceptually the concept of TBL as well as the arguments for and against this reporting style. We observed that irrespective of the arguments put forward for and against this reporting style, the overall concept is on more disclosures and this in itself is awesome as long as the benefits derivable outweigh its cost
