Underwater collection of methane on East Arctic shelf low-expensive technology of gas extraction

The article discusses the opportunities and prospects for the development of offshore methane hydrates in Eastern Siberia along the coast of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Conducted by the authors preliminary cost estimate for the construction and operation of underwater complex collection of methane showed that the cost of production of 1,000 cubic meters of gas for the conditions of the sea shelf of the Laptev Sea is not more than U.S. $ 20. In view of the minimal impact of underwater reservoirs on the environment, the technology of gas production will be the low-cost of all currently existing technologies of gas production in the sea.
