Virtual strip rolling mill (VirtROLL) : final report
According to the final report template, the document is divided into two main sections containing a short 10-pages description of the work performed in the project and a longer explanation of results obtained and structured on a task to task basis. The first section is organized into subsections starting from the description of requirements defining the VirtRoll system's functionality followed by the work done to fulfil these requirements. The main objective is to present the most significant aspects. The second section is focused on the innovations developed by particular tasks. That description is organized according to the task schedule, predefined objectives and obtained results with a special attention put on the innovative aspects. The report starts with the presentation of selected materials with detailed description of the performed laboratory tests. The metallurgical mathematical models tailored on the basis of the obtained results are described as well. Afterwards, identification of key aspects regarding innovative rolling and modern equipment is discussed. Selection of mathematical models, their parameterization and the way of their usage influence design of the VirtRoll computer system being the main objective of this project. The design of software architecture and software design pattern applied to build the VirtRoll computer system is described. Then, we present the research focused on implementation of the rheological and microstructure evolution models, and preparation of data for procedures of inverse and sensitivity analysis. Special attention has been put on the analysis of chemical composition influence on precipitations and properties of the product after coiling and coil cooling.
