Whither Adverse Possession in Hong Kong? A Comparative and Statistical Study

This article reviews the case law, statutes, and long-awaited public consultation paper on adverse possession (the “Consultation Paper”) published by the Hong Kong Law Reform Commission in 2012, in order to identify a suitable model for adverse possession reforms. This article employs a statistical study to identify the local factors in Hong Kong which may impact on the suggested solutions.
