Work Environment, Values, Satisfaction and Work Engagement, and Behaviors

The study is conducted involving 58 randomly selected Job Order/ Contractual Employees at the Central Luzon State University. The study focused on the work environment, values, satisfaction, and work engagement and behaviors. The survey respondents were picked accordingly to availability and no further stratification was employed in a bid to generate unbiased findings. All 8 factors comprising the Work were very important to the respondents. Two aspects that emerged of topmost importance are: Feeling Safe in the Work Environment (80%) and Relationship with Co-workers (81%) seconded by Job Security (79.3%). These work environment parameters‟ importance yielded no association on sex/ gender. For the measurement of the Respondents‟ current job satisfaction on same Work Environment listed criteria, the highest majority response is only Slightly Satisfied for all aspects. Ranked accordingly to highest percentage, the top three aspects are: Meaningfulness of the Job and Contribution of Work to organizations Overall Goals tied at 1st with 55.2% each, seconded by the Teamwork Between Departments/Business Units (53.4%) while tied at rank 3 are: Teamwork within Departments/ Units (51.7%) and the Work Itself (51.7%). Accordingly, no association between these Work Environment Satisfaction ratings with sex/ gender has been found out. On Work Engagement Opinions and Behaviors measured from respondents‟ agreement with nineteen (19) listed statements, the respondents‟ responses floated only from the range of undecided, agree and highly agree, however, the major responsibility for all work engagement opinion and behaviors are in the "agree" category. The highest agree response percentage was from the statement "Employees in my organization deal very well with unpredictable or changing work situations" (65.5%) while the least was for the statement "I feel completely plugged in at work like I'm always on full power" (41.4%). Meanwhile, a test of correlation with gender/ sex done for these states only yielded one significant relationship which is for the statement "I feel completely plugged in at work like I'm always on full power" (.048 significance) where male respondents tend to agree that their female counterpart
