On core stability and extendability
Shellshear, Evan - Institut für Mathematische Wirtschaftsforschung, … - 2007
This paper investigates conditions under which the core of a TU cooperative game is stable. In particular the author extends the idea of extendability to find new conditions under which the core is stable. It is also shown that these new conditions are not necessary for core stability.

A NECESSARY AND SUFFICIENT CONDITION FOR THE NON-EMPTINESS OF THE SOCIALLY STABLE CORE IN STRUCTURED TU-GAMES
CESCO, JUAN CARLOS - In: International Game Theory Review (IGTR) 11 (2009) 03, pp. 383-389
In this note we provide a neccesary and sufficient condition for the non-emptiness of the socially stable core of a … latter paper, the authors provide suffcient conditions for the non-emptiness of the socially stable core, but up to now, no …

The endogenous formation of cartels
Rosenmüller, Joachim - In: Review of Economic Design 8 (2003) 1, pp. 39-62
We discuss large but finite linear market games which are represented as minima of finitely many measures. These games describe markets in which the agents decompose into finitely many disjoint groups each of which holds a corner of the market. Most solution concepts like the core, the Shapley...

Assignment games with stable core
Raghavan, T. E. S.; Solymosi, Tamás - In: International Journal of Game Theory 30 (2001) 2, pp. 177-185
We prove that the core of an assignment game (a two-sided matching game with transferable utility as introduced by Shapley and Shubik, 1972) is stable (i.e., it is the unique von Neumann-Morgenstern solution) if and only if there is a matching between the two types of players such that the...

Stability and largeness of core for symmetric games
Biswas, Amit K.; Ravindran, G.; Parthasarathy, T. - In: International Journal of Game Theory 29 (2000) 1, pp. 11-22
Largeness of the core is sufficient for stability of the core. In general the necessity is not known. In this paper we answer affirmatively the necessity for symmetric games. We also prove its equivalence to n specified vectors being imputations and also to the convexity of the lower boundary of...

Gellekom, J. R. G. van; Potters, J. A. M.; Reijnierse, J. H. - In: International Journal of Game Theory 28 (1999) 2, pp. 211-227
An important open problem in the theory of TU-games is to determine whether a game has a stable core (Von Neumann …

Equilibria in Weighted Voting Games with Sidepayments
Sened, Itai - In: Journal of Theoretical Politics 7 (1995) 3, pp. 283-300
Coalition formation is modeled as a cooperative games. Each party enters the game endowed with a weight that is a function of the proportion of the votes the party obtained in the elections, and an ideal policy position. Payoffs to parties are a function of the distance of the government's...
