Tests to Improve Search

To improve our search, we are testing new ranking algorithms through online experiments. As an application partner of the DFG-funded STELLA project, we use the STELLA infrastructure to conduct interleaving experiments. In these experiments, the results from two different ranking algorithms are combined into a single results list (interleaving) and presented to randomly selected users. The effectiveness of the ranking algorithms is then evaluated using anonymous usage data (e.g., clicks on results). 

No personal data is collected. Our privacy policy, including the option to opt out of the collection of any visit data, can be found here.
