ECB conference on Challenges for macroeconomic policy in a low inflation environment - European Central Bank
The conference will bring together researchers from academia and policy institutions to discuss the reasons why inflation has been persistently low recently in many industrialised countries as well as the design of appropriate macroeconomic policy responses. Topics: - monetary policy at the lower bound, including the effects of non-standard monetary policy measures; - the determinants of inflation expectations, and the interaction between inflation expectations and the economy; - deleveraging and monetary and fiscal policy in the presence of large stocks of debt; - structural and reduced-form models of the inflation process; - monetary policy and fiscal policy in a currency union; - adjustment to macroeconomic imbalances in a currency union.
