EDEN DOCTORAL SEMINAR ON ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT OF INNOVATION
Innovation has become a top priority for companies at the CEO level. Connecting the innovation process with company strategy is crucial as the sustainability of the firm’s competitive advantage increasingly depend on its innovation capabilities. As a consequence, many scholars in economics and management, and even more many PhD students, are focusing their investigation on the issues that innovation poses to researchers, from the understanding of the impact of innovation on competition and competitive advantage, to the investigation of practices to manage innovation. This requires linking economics of innovation and innovation management. These fields, once developed rather independently, are now converging by focusing on similar problems, sharing models, perspectives and methods. Hence, this course proposes to help doctoral students make the connection between the two fields. More specifically, it aims at providing to PhD students (at first or second year) an overview of the issues, approaches and methods currently practiced by scholars in the field of economics and management of innovation.
