Monetary operations - Centre for Central Banking Studies
This seminar will look at recent developments in money market operations, including changes made to frameworks following the global financial market crisis. In addition, it will consider how monetary operations interact with a central bank’s financial stability and regulatory mandates. Topics: - review a central bank’s balance sheet in the light of monetary operations and risk tolerances; - success criteria: monitoring performance of operational structures; - recent and potential future revisions to the framework; - collateral requirements and risk management techniques; - a detailed review of the Bank of England’s monetary operations; and - the pursuit of financial stability goals through money market operations.
