Tax Compliance: Administration and Dispute Resolution Conference
The conference program highlights are as follows: - Pascal Saint-Amans (recently appointed Director of the OECD’s Centre for Tax Policy and Administration), Terrance McAuley (Assistant Commissioner, Compliance Services Branch, Canada Revenue Agency), and Michael F. Mundaca (of Ernst & Young LLP, and former Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy, US Treasury Department) will discuss global trends in tax administration. - A panel of senior tax executives will discuss current issues in tax governance and financial reporting. - A panel of international guests will discuss alternative dispute resolution techniques employed in other countries and the lessons that Canadians can learn from their experiences. - An expert panel will discuss techniques for resolving tax disputes before going to court. - In concurrent sessions, a wide range of compliance, administration, and dispute resolution topics will be discussed, including access to working papers, voluntary disclosure, rectification, solicitor-client privilege, notices of objection, and preparing for appearances before the Federal Court of Appeal.
