The 5th Annual Conference on International Institutions New Agenda of the WTO: Challenge and Contribution of the European Union
The new WTO agenda of trade bargaining concentrates on how to proceed with the Doha Agenda in near future: This conference aims also to discuss the special role of the EU. (1) Liberalization of trade: e.g. in agricultural products; the Common Agriculture Policy; and food security; (2) GATS: to set up a rule-based system for liberalization of trade in services: under consideration of protecting national culture and security; and the role of creative industry; (3) Trade and standard issues: environment standard; food standard, health standard; labour standard and poverty reduction. (4) Implications of regional integration on the global trade system within the framework of the WTO.
