A Study on Demographic Variables and Organizational Commitment of Employees
The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship of variables in demographics and organizational engagement in the service sector in India. The nature of the research is quantitative. The education sector has been identified as the population for the purpose of research. A survey is to be conducted amongst academicians employed in private universities. The technique of data collection used is a structured questionnaire. A sample of 211 academic staff was taken into consideration. For data analysis two statistical tests, namely one-way ANOVA as well as Independent T-Test were employed. The findings of the study indicate that age and experience have a significant impact on organizational commitment, although gender and marital status were not found to have a significant impact on organizational engagement. The research work also includes assessing the limitations of the current study and exploring the potential scope of further studying the relationship between demographics and organizational engagement and other related variables in the service sector in India in the future
