Complexity of IT Projects : Cognition and Realization

Projects in public governance and technological development are becoming increasingly complex. Complexity, as an inherent attribute of any project, needs to be defined and documented to enable a project team to foresee resulting challenges in a timely manner, and take steps to alleviate them.The main contribution of the paper is in presenting a complexity framework which includes practical approach and intuitive tools that can be used by project managers and teams to understand project complexity and neutralize its potential negative consequences. The article is intended for practicing project managers and university students specializing in public governance, project management and business management
