Effect on operating efficiency of the supply chain management practices : An empirical study of manufacturing companies in Vietnam
The research aims to study the impact on the operational efficiency of Vietnamese manufacturing companies of the supply chain quality control. The survey is performed with the purpose of gathering data from Vietnamese manufacturing companies. By way of correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis, data collected were analyzed. This survey highlights the current situation in Vietnamese manufacturing companies with more emphasis on internal quality management activities than on quality management practice on the upstream and downstream. This study confirms correlations and regression analyzes which demonstrate the significant connection between quality management practices of the supply chains and operational efficiency. The quality control upstream and downstream is a significant predictor of high quality, cost and delivery efficiency. This study provides empirical evidence for practitioners, particularly for emerging economies, to improve their specific efficiency. It is stressed that quality control at the level of the supply chain should be increased to leverage the capability of external stakeholders in a volatile and unpredictable market climate. Implementing practices such as IT ties, knowledge sharing, provider involvement and customer involvement will contribute to a high level of operational efficiency in Vietnamese manufacturing companies
