Global Competency Matrix : Re-Validation for Professional and Technical Students

As the globalization is influencing each and every aspect of our life creating a more interdependent and pluralistic society. The education system is also under the same pressure to produce students who can compete, sustain and contribute to the globe. Global Competency is the ability or the set of competencies that will equip today’s students to face the changing dynamics of the world. So far research work in this area has been mostly conducted in western and developed country context. The paper has given an attempt to validate the Global Competency Matrix given by Asia society in the Indian professional as well as technical education context so that the research in this area can be facilitated in developing countries learning environment. The paper found that the proposed matrix is equally valid for Indian professional as well as technical educational milieu and can be applied to assess the Global Competency for the Indian educational system
