Impact of Motivation on Passing of GTO Complex's Standards

The article deals with the problem of the impact of motivation on the passing of GTO complex’s standards. We consider motivation as the basis of active, persistent, positive attitude to physical culture and sports activities. Creation and development of proper motivation for a healthy lifestyle allows to manage the indirect activity of the certain group of people, increases their responsibility and discipline, activity and independence in the process of improvement of the skills of healthy lifestyle in general, and passing of standards of GTO complex in particular, and gives positive prerequisites for change educational process in educational institutions and universities. We conducted research on the motivation of Russian students to participate in passing standards of GTO complex. The sample included 145 students from different institutions in Russia. As results of the investigation of a motivation of Russian students show students are not interested in the achievement of high sports results. 67% of students are not motivated to pass standards of GTO complex because they want to be independent and individual. 78% of students noted the aesthetic component in sports activities. They want to improve their figure and look good. It is the most powerful motive for activities of physical culture and sports. We made the conclusion that teachers and trainers of physical exercises in their work should emphasize the attention of students that participate in passing GTO complex’s standards is not only approach to get distinctive marks and certain benefits, but it is the great opportunity to improve their figure and appearance
