Introduction
This introduction opens a field of exploration about evaluation, evaluation practice, and the evaluator in the context of violent contested spaces, violently divided societies, war, and violent civil strife and conflict. Discussed in the introduction are the philosophical, theoretical, political and practical issues and concerns relevant to the work of evaluation and the doing of evaluation studies under these conditions.
