Investigation of multiple scattering contributions to the depolarization of light scattered by carbon dioxide and xenon in the critical region
Following a description of the experimental investigation of multiple scattering of light in the critical region and of the numerical calculation of the double and triple scattering contribution in the two preceding papers, we now investigate to what extent the experimental results confirm the validity of the theory. The various effects masking ideal double and triple scattering behaviour in experimental data are discussed. It is then found that good agreement between theory and experiment is obtained at small values for the height of the observed volume.
