Mainstreaming Intellectually Disabled with Blended Learning

Today‟s digitalized era, rapid growth in the use of technology and several web based means of communication have provided an opportunity to educators, all over the world to investigate the most suitable learning environment which may cater the needs of diverse learner. Technology advancement allows education to reach beyond the classrooms and facilitates students with better access and availability to various learning resources. Blended learning approaches have provide opportunities to the teachers, students and the wider community to take advantage of various learning platforms through enhanced personalization collaboration and communication enabled by learning technologies.Special education is always a neglected in our nation‟s education system. Educators and students in these programs are always struggling. National educators are limited in number. Only increasing number of special educators can not be the solution. Education system need to design the special education which suits to the need of these specially abled children. Blended learning with good ICT facilities can help in providing better education to these students. Learner centric model will help in achieving their objectives in life The main aim of the study is provide a model for blended learning to special education institute which will support teachers and parents of students with special needs
