Mining the Web for Managing Web Content
The Internet, otherwise called as the web, is widely used in many industries. The advent of e-commerce has brought about changes in several businesses. Since the nature of the web has become dynamic, many challenges have to be faced in order to locate information related to a specific domain. Search engines are there to solve the problem, but when information is to be extracted from multiple webpages, web mining is a better solution. This article gives an introduction to web mining and talks mainly about the different taxonomies in web mining, viz., web content mining, web structure mining and web usage mining. Some common softwares available for web mining are also listed. There are various issues in web mining and these have also been explained
