Trends over Framework Programmes on the balance between fundamental vs applied/downstream research in the areas covered by Resilient Europe : (encompassing ERC and Marie-Curie)

This study assesses trends in funding distribution across these programmes, using case studies and data analysis to evaluate the balance between fundamental and applied research, with a focus on health and security sectors, including MSCA and ERC. Despite visible discrepancies between fundamental and advanced science in the H2020 the balance seems to be regulated in HEU projects. The findings highlight the importance of maintaining a balance to foster innovation and address societal challenges.
