The Role of Public Relations in the Development of Customs Authorities in Russia

The paper is devoted to the analysis of the role of public relations in the development of customs authorities in Russia. We argue that creating a developed system of social communications is vital for the functioning of any government structure. We concentrated on the method of the formation of the positive image of the customs authorities. Information activities through the media and through active interaction with state and public associations affect the image development. We made the conclusion that the accumulated institutional and infrastructural potential, based on innovative, customs and information technologies and corresponding to the practice of advanced customs administrations of other countries, should be the basis for the sustainable development of the customs service of the Russian Federation until 2020
